Low-calorie “feta” substitute

Spread the love

Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 200 g tofu, natural, firm
  • 250 ml water, lukewarm
  • 15 g salt
  • e.g. oregano
  • n. B. Pizza seasoning

Instructions

Working time approx. 10 minutes; Rest time approx. 2 days 10 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 15 minutes; Total time approx. 2 days 35 minutes

made from tofu, without oil

Drain the tofu and simmer in a pot of water over medium heat for 10-15 minutes. Then drain the water and let the tofu cool slightly. Mix the measured amounts of water and salt, along with the spices, until the salt has dissolved. Place the tofu and brine in a sealable plastic container and refrigerate for at least two days to allow everything to infuse. Now, enjoy the feta as desired. I like it on a fresh salad. FYI: Boiling the tofu first will cause it to lose its typical tofu flavor.
