Low Carb Chips – The Best Tips and Ideas

Low-carb chips can be just as delicious as your high-carb versions. In this article, we will show you the best tips and recipes for low-carb chips.

Low carb: vegetable chips

In principle, you can choose almost any vegetable of your choice for these chips. Please note, however, that the baking time may then change.

  • We use zucchini for our recipe because it becomes wonderfully crispy in the oven. In addition to the zucchini, all you need is some olive oil and spices of your choice. We use some paprika powder, garlic, and of course salt as spices.
  • First, you should cut the zucchini into thin slices. This works best with a grater. Of course, you can also cut the zucchini by hand with a normal knife, but this usually takes longer and the slices are sometimes a bit too thick.
  • Now put the zucchini slices in a plastic bag and add the olive oil and spices.
  • Then shake this bag vigorously and let the zucchini slices marinate a little. While waiting, you can preheat the oven to almost 100°C.
  • Then bake the zucchini chips on a baking tray lined with baking paper for about 1 hour in the oven. But you should check back every now and then.
  • Now all you have to do is let the vegetable chips cool down and you have delicious low-carb chips.

Low-carb cheese chips

  • For this recipe, you need about 200g of grated cheese of your choice and your desired spices. A mixture of paprika powder, garlic, and chili is suitable here, for example.
  • Preheat the oven to around 160°C and place the baking paper on the baking tray.
  • You should grate the cheese as finely as possible because then it can best be mixed with the remaining ingredients.
  • Put the cheese in a bowl and add the spices. Then mix everything together.
  • Now you can use a teaspoon to scoop some of the mixtures out of the bowl and place little heaps of cheese on the baking sheet. The piles should be at least 1/2 inch apart, as the cheese will melt and grow larger.
  • After 5-10 minutes you should take the cheese chips out of the oven. However, always look in the oven during the baking time, because the chips are very thin.

Low carb chips made from bacon

  • All you need for these delicious chips is a pack of bacon.
  • First, preheat the oven to 200°C and line a baking tray with baking paper.
  • Now all you have to do is cut the bacon into squares or pieces about 2cm in size and spread them out on the baking sheet.
  • Then the bacon goes in the oven for about 20 minutes. Check-in between, however, whether it is already crispy. If that’s the case, you can get him out earlier.
  • Since the bacon itself is very salty, you shouldn’t add any seasonings. We rather advise you to make a tasty dip with the bacon chips.
