Low-Carb Pizza: The 3 Best Pizza Bases

Pizza can also be low carb. Using three recipe ideas, we will show you how to make your pizza crust particularly low in carbohydrates and tasty.

Low-Carb Cauliflower Pizza Base

You should have a few ingredients ready for the cauliflower pizza crust. You will need 1 cauliflower, 60g grated parmesan, 60g grated mozzarella, 1/2 tsp each of oregano, basil, and garlic powder, a little paprika powder, a pinch of salt and an egg.

  • First, you should free the cauliflower from the leaves and cut out the individual florets.
  • Put the florets in a blender and chop them very small.
  • Then pour the cauliflower flakes into a microwave-safe bowl and cover it. Use a small plate or a cover for this. The cauliflower stays in the microwave for 4 minutes. Allow the cauliflower to cool very well before
  • proceeding to the next step.
  • Place the cauliflower flakes in a towel, then wring them out to get rid of the excess liquid in the cauliflower.
  • In another bowl, mix the flakes well with all the other ingredients. It is best to use your hands to knead.
  • Now you can roll out the dough and place it in a 230°C oven for 8-10 minutes.
  • Then you choose the topping of your choice and put the pizza back in the oven for a short time.

Low-carb pizza with mushrooms

This turns the mushroom into a low-carb snack. You need the following ingredients for these mini pizzas: giant mushrooms, olive oil, salt, pepper, and a topping of your choice.

  • The first thing you should do is clean the mushrooms and carefully remove the fins from the cap.
  • Now brush each cap with olive oil and season with salt and pepper.
  • Place all the caps on a baking tray lined with baking paper and place in an oven at 220°C. The caps stay there for about 15-20 minutes.
  • After this time you can take the caps out of the oven and let them cool down. Gently squeeze the remaining liquid out of the caps. However, be careful not to damage the caps.
  • Now it’s time to cover: There are no limits to your imagination. Anything you like can fit on your small pizza.
  • The caps then go back into the oven until the cheese has melted and reached the desired degree of browning.

Low-carb pizza dough made from almond flour

For an almond pizza, from which you can easily cut 8 pieces, you need: 1 egg, 60ml still mineral water, 1 tablespoon olive oil, 200g almond flour, 50g grated parmesan, 1/2 tsp baking powder, 1/2 tsp sweetener, something Oregano, and a little basil.

  • First, mix all the wet ingredients together in a bowl. This includes the egg, the mineral water, and the olive oil.
  • Now mix the dry ingredients together. If you like, you can also mix some garlic powder into the batter.
  • Then pour in the wet ingredients and process everything into a smooth dough.
  • After you have rolled out the dough and possibly placed it in a pizza pan, the dough is baked in the oven at 190°C for 20-25 minutes.
  • Then give the dough enough time to cool down and then sprinkle it with your chosen ingredients.
  • It is sufficient to put the pizza back in the oven for a short time so that the topping is cooked.
