Ingredients for 4 servings:
- 500 g minced meat, mixed
- 500 g tomatoes, pureed
- 125 ml broth
- 1 garlic clove(s), pressed
- 1 half onion(s), chopped
- 1 tbsp tomato paste
- 1 tbsp basil, freshly chopped or shredded
- 320 g spaghetti
- salt and pepper

The light version of the popular Italian sauce
Place the minced meat in a large pot and heat gently without adding any fat, breaking it up and stirring frequently. As soon as the meat starts to brown, add the onions, garlic, and a pinch of salt and pepper. Stir frequently until all the diced onions are soft and the meat is cooked through. Deglaze with stock, add the passata, tomato paste, and basil, and bring to a boil while stirring. Simmer gently, uncovered, for half an hour until the sauce thickens slightly, stirring occasionally! Allow 80g of spaghetti per person (dry weight). For 4 people, therefore, cook 320g in plenty of salted water until al dente. No need to add any fat after cooking! The entire dish has approximately 300 kcal per person.
