Lumberjack Toast

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 0.7 kg minced meat, mixed
  • 1 small onion(s)
  • 3 eggs
  • salt and pepper
  • 1 kg mushrooms, frozen
  • 200 ml sweet cream
  • some potato flour
  • 5 tbsp oil
  • 8 slices of cheese (Gouda)
  • 8 slices of toast
  • nutmeg
  • breadcrumbs

Instructions

Working time approx. 30 minutes; Total time approx. 30 minutes

Place the minced meat in a bowl, dice the onion, and stir in the salt, pepper, nutmeg, breadcrumbs, eggs, and onion. Form two small 100g minced steaks and fry in hot fat, then set aside. Bring the mushrooms to a boil in a saucepan, discard some of the mushroom broth, add the cream, thicken with potato flour, and season with salt, pepper, and nutmeg. (If you like, you can also add some ready-made hollandaise sauce.) Toast the toast, top each with a minced steak, top with the mushrooms a la crème, and add a slice of cheese. Place in the oven at 170°C for 5-10 minutes. Serve with a cool dark beer.
