Macaroni and Gyro Casserole

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 250 g pasta (short macaroni)
  • salt and pepper
  • 250 g cherry tomatoes
  • 4 spring onions
  • 2 small zucchini
  • 600 g pork, shredded
  • 1 tbsp oil
  • 1 tbsp flour
  • 350 ml vegetable stock
  • 100 ml whipped cream
  • Spice mix for gyros
  • n. B. cheese, grated
  • Fat for the mold

Instructions

Working time approx. 35 minutes; Total time approx. 35 minutes

Cook the pasta in boiling salted water according to the package instructions until al dente. Clean and wash the vegetables. Halve the tomatoes, halve the zucchini lengthwise and slice. Slice the spring onions into rings. Set everything aside for now. Season the shredded meat with the gyro seasoning. Brown in a hot pan for about ten minutes, then remove from the pan. Add 1 tablespoon of oil to the pan, heat it up, and then brown the vegetables. Add the meat again. Dust everything with 1 tablespoon of flour and sauté briefly. Add the vegetable stock and cream. Bring everything to a boil and simmer for 5 minutes. Season to taste with seasonings. Now alternate layers of cooked pasta, meat, and cheese in a greased baking dish. Finish with cheese. Bake in a preheated oven at 200°C for about 20 minutes. Serve immediately.
