  • 600 g Gruyère

Instructions

Working time approx. 15 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 20 minutes; Total time approx. 35 minutes

Place the macaroni in a pot of boiling salted water and cook according to the package instructions. Preheat the oven to 200°C (top/bottom heat) or 180°C (fan oven). While the pasta is cooking, dice the ham. Then prepare a baking dish. Spread a few knobs of butter on the bottom of the baking dish. Once the pasta is cooked and drained, halve the amount. Spread the first half of the macaroni, approximately 375g, on the bottom of the prepared baking dish. Arrange the prepared ham pieces on top and mix them a little with the macaroni using your hands. Now spread about 250g of the Gruyère over the macaroni. Spread the remaining macaroni evenly in the baking dish and sprinkle the remaining Gruyère over the macaroni, mixing it in with the macaroni if necessary. Sprinkle everything with a thin layer of breadcrumbs and then top with plenty of butter. Bake in a preheated oven for about 20 minutes.
