Macaroni casserole with ham

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 250 g pasta (macaroni)
  • 200 g ham, cooked
  • 60 g cheese, grated
  • 2 eggs
  • 250 ml milk
  • Salt
  • pepper
  • nutmeg
  • 2 tbsp breadcrumbs
  • Butter, in flakes

Instructions

Working time approx. 20 minutes; Total time approx. 20 minutes

Break the macaroni into finger-length pieces and cook until al dente. Cut the ham into small cubes. Place the macaroni, ham, and grated cheese in alternating layers in a greased casserole dish. The top layer should be macaroni. Beat the eggs with the milk. Season with salt, pepper, and nutmeg. Pour over the macaroni. Sprinkle the casserole with the breadcrumbs (you can use cheese instead, depending on your taste). Place knobs of butter on top. Bake in a preheated oven at 200°C for about 40 minutes.
