Macaroni Cheese

The perfect macaroni cheese recipe with a picture and simple step-by-step instructions.

  • 300 g Egg pasta macaroni
  • 1 Fresh onion
  • 50 g Butter
  • 2 tbsp Flour
  • 0,5 liter Milk
  • 2 tsp Mustard
  • 250 g Grated Emmental
  • 2 tbsp Breadcrumbs
  • Salt
  • Pepper
  1. Cook the macaroni al dente, drain well and set aside.
  1. Melt the butter in a saucepan and stir in the flour – sweat briefly. Add the milk and stir until you get a creamy sauce without lumps (perfect with a WMF whisk). Now add the mustard, salt and pepper.
  1. Cut the onion into very fine rings and layer them in a baking dish with the macaroni. Here salt and pepper can be used again per shift.
  1. Approx. Stir 150 grams of the cheese into the sauce and pour the sauce over the pasta. First pour the breadcrumbs and then the rest of the cheese over the casserole and bake in the oven at 200 ° C for about 15 to 20 minutes.
