Ingredients for 4 servings:
- 1,250 g fish fillet(s) (mackerel fillet or other firm fish fillet), steamed
- 750 g potatoes, steamed
- 4 onions
- 6 gherkins
- 4 tbsp butter
- 100 g cheese, grated
- salt and pepper
- Worcestershire sauce
- Garlic
- Parsley
Instructions
Working time approx. 30 minutes; Total time approx. 30 minutes
Shred the fish fillet, which has been steaming in its own juices, with a fork. Peel the freshly cooked potatoes and slice them thinly. Sauté the sliced onions in butter and add the grated garlic. In a greased casserole dish, alternate layers of fish, onions, sliced gherkins, and potatoes. Season with pepper and Worcestershire sauce. Sprinkle with chopped parsley, sprinkle with grated cheese, and place a few knobs of butter on top. Bake for 10 to 12 minutes.
