Ginger syrup consists of only a few ingredients.
- First, you need 150 grams of fresh ginger.
- The syrup is sweet, so you need sugar. 250 grams should be enough, but you can use a little more if you want the syrup sweeter.
- Add a lemon and 800 ml of water.
- Use sealable bottles or jars for filling.
DIY ginger syrup recipe
Making ginger syrup is easier than you might think.
- Peel the ginger and cut the root into small pieces.
- Then squeeze the lemon and grate the zest.
- Put the ginger and the juice and the zest of the lemon in a saucepan with the water and let everything simmer for almost half an hour.
- Now sift everything with a sieve and let the brew simmer for another 30 minutes, gradually adding the sugar.
- The syrup is then filled hot into the glasses and kept for three to four months.
