Tortillas – The ingredients

Nachos are made from tortillas, the typical Mexican flatbread. You can make fresh tortillas from the following recipe and then use them for nachos as well. For 8 tortillas you need the following ingredients:

  • 250 grams of cornmeal
  • 100 grams of wheat flour
  • 250ml of water
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • ½ tsp salt

The tortillas should be very thin and should not be baked for too long. This is how you are guaranteed to succeed with the flat cakes:

  • Put the ingredients for the tortillas in a bowl and mix them with a mixer until a smooth dough is formed.
  • Divide the dough into eight parts and roll them out into thin circles on a floured surface using a rolling pin.
  • Then put some oil in a pan and bake the tortillas on both sides.
  • Remove the tortillas from the pan as soon as they start to bubble. The right time is important, otherwise, they will become brittle.

Nachos – The marinade

For the nachos, you need a delicious marinade. Take the following ingredients as a basic recipe. However, you can vary this according to your own taste.

  • 3 tbsp olive oil
  • paprika powder

  • Chili powder or flakes

Guacamole – The Ingredients

  • 2 ripe avocados
  • 2 tomatoes
  • 1-2 cloves of garlic
  • 2 Tablespoons of milk
  • juice of half a lemon
  • coriander and chili
  • Salt pepper

This delicious dip is quick to make and even beginners can make it right away.

  • Halve the avocado and remove the stone. Using a spoon, scrape the flesh from the skin into a bowl. Mash the flesh with a fork until creamy.
  • If you like it extra creamy, mix in 2 tablespoons of milk.
  • Chop the tomatoes and garlic and mix them into the pulp. If you like coriander, you can add the herb to the guacamole. Be careful not to use too much cilantro. Otherwise, the cream will taste soapy later.
  • If you like it spicy, chop half a red chili pepper (remove the seeds) and add it to the mixture.
  • Finally, season generously with salt and pepper and add lemon juice.
  • Extra tip: The lemon juice prevents the avocado from turning brown. You can also put the core in the bowl with the dip. This also prevents browning and also looks good.

Tomato salsa – the ingredients

For 4 servings you need the following ingredients:

  • 10 ripe tomatoes
  • 2 shallots
  • 1 clove of garlic
  • ½ bunch basil or coriander (depending on your taste)
  • 2 tbsp white wine vinegar
  • 3 tbsp olive oil
  • Salt

In just a few minutes you can make this delicious salsa.

  • Cut the tomatoes into small cubes.
  • Peel the shallots and garlic and then chop them finely.
  • Wash the basil or coriander and finely chop the leaves.
  • Mix all the ingredients with vinegar and oil. Then season the mixture with salt and pepper.
