This is how you quickly make a healthy oat drink
Oat milk, which according to the EU cannot be called milk because it is not an animal product, is significantly more expensive in retail than cow’s milk. It is definitely worth making your own food because you can get the ingredients for just a few cents. There are a few recipes for making oat milk, one variant is with oatmeal, which is very quick.
- For one liter of oat milk, you need 140 grams of fine oat flakes and one liter of water. Since the pure oat milk tastes quite tart, you can sweeten it with dates, for example. Then add about ten dates to a liter of milk, depending on how sweet you like it. Of course, you can also use sweeteners such as honey, agave syrup, or sugar.
- Refine the oat milk with cinnamon or chocolate, depending on your taste.
- Put the ingredients in a blender and puree everything for about two minutes at the highest level.
- Your oat milk is then ready to drink. If you prefer your oat drink to be particularly fine, pour the liquid over a cheesecloth or alternatively a cotton kitchen towel. Don’t throw away the pulp you’ve caught, as it’s great for baking or muesli.
- You can keep the oat milk in a well-sealed milk bottle in the refrigerator for about four days.
- Tip: Your oat drink will get a slightly stronger taste if you put the oat flakes in an ungreased pan and heat them up for about two minutes. The oat flakes must not turn brown.
