Make Salad Spices Yourself – That’s How It Works

Make your own salad spices: Here’s how

You can easily make your own salad seasonings. Depending on your taste, you can easily vary them. If you want to make salad spices in advance, then do not use fresh herbs under any circumstances. They would go moldy after a few days.

  • For a salad seasoning mix, combine 4 tablespoons of dried parsley, 2 tablespoons of dried oregano, 1 teaspoon of onion powder, 1 tablespoon of chives, and 1 teaspoon of sea salt, 0.5 teaspoons of pepper, a teaspoonful of dried dill, and 1.5 teaspoons of dried wild garlic.
  • If you like your salad spices finely, put them in a blender and chop them finely in the blender.
  • Pour the salad seasonings into a screw-top jar. Seal it well. Store the homemade spices in a cool, dark place.
  • If you want to use the spice, mix 1.5 tablespoons of the spice mixture with 50 milliliters of oil and 50 milliliters of vinegar.

These spices are also suitable for a salad seasoning

You can easily adapt salad spices to your own taste. The following herbs and spices are suitable for this.

  • For example, combine parsley, chives, dill, and basil.
  • For an oriental touch, you can use dried lemon zest and sesame seeds, for example.
  • Garlic, onions, and chili add spice to the salad.
  • Also use pepper, white pepper, and dried tomatoes.
  • Add a little sugar or cornstarch for a slightly fruity note.
  • Replace the regular salt with sea salt.
  • Always make sure that you store the spices properly. Otherwise, they may spoil.
