Recipe: Make your own ginger shot – the ingredients
For one liter of ginger shot you need:
- 2 large ginger bulbs
- 2 apples
- 4 oranges
- 1 lemon
- 1 tablespoon turmeric
Ginger shot – how it works
The ginger contains many essential oils and bitter substances, the remaining ingredients provide vitamins and soften the strong taste.
- Peel the ginger and put it in the juicer with the unpeeled apples.
- You can squeeze the oranges and lemons by hand.
- Then pass the juice through a sieve to filter out residue and remaining pulp.
- Stir in a tablespoon of turmeric and the ginger shot is ready.
- The drink will keep in the fridge for a week. A small glass per day is sufficient.
- Tip: If the taste of the ginger is too intense or too weak for you, you can vary the number of oranges.
Make a ginger shot without a juicer
If you don’t have a juicer handy, you can use a blender to chop the ginger. There is a second recipe for this.
- Leave the peel on the ginger and just cut off the ends. You need around 100 grams of ginger.
- Squeeze three lemons and place the ginger and lemon juice in a bowl with 100 grams of honey or maple syrup.
- Everything is chopped up with the hand blender for at least a minute. The ginger shot keeps in the fridge for 4 to 7 days.
