Eat Chicken Wings Properly – That’s How It Works

How to properly eat chicken wings

Just nibble off the chicken wings? This can result in nasty grease stains on clothing. It also looks amateurish… Professionals, on the other hand, know how to get crispy meat. You make eating the chicken wings much easier with a simple trick:

  • Pull on the cartilage attachment at the top of the wing. This allows you to easily remove the bones completely.
  • The only thing left for you is the meat, which you can now eat without any problems.
  • If you don’t like the gristles, consider removing those too.

The marinade for chicken wings

In general, you should season the chicken before marinating. Here we recommend the combination of salt, garlic powder, paprika powder, and cayenne pepper. You decide the amount yourself, as everyone likes it differently.

  • The classic is of course a spicy marinade. The basis of this marinade is a barbecue sauce. You can either make these yourself or buy them in the store.
  • The ingredients depend on how many chicken wings you want to make. The chicken wings should be well coated in the marinade.
  • For the sauce, mix the barbecue sauce with lots of honey, some ketchup and sriracha, and a small amount of garlic powder.
  • Then cover the seasoned and baked chicken wings with the marinade and let it stand for at least 20 minutes.

Delicious dips with chicken wings

  • Blue cheese dip is especially popular with chicken wings. For this, you need garlic cloves, blue cheese, crème fraîche, mayonnaise, yogurt, lemon juice, and some salt and pepper, as well as sugar.
  • Just like with the marinade, the following applies here: spices and ingredients according to your personal preferences.
  • To have a rough guide, use 3 parts blue cheese and 1 part each crème fraîche and mayonnaise. Yogurt and blue cheese should be in roughly equal amounts.
  • A ranch dip also goes perfectly with chicken wings. The base for this dip consists of sour cream and mayonnaise and you round it off with suitable spices.
  • Popular herb combinations for a ranch dip include parsley, chives, and dill, plus a small number of scallions.
  • Taste both dips from time to time. So you can achieve the perfect taste for yourself.
