Make Your Own Soap: Basic Recipes For Solid And Liquid Products

Making soap yourself is easier than you think – provided you follow our uncomplicated instructions. This allows you to easily create an individual solid or liquid variant. Without any questionable chemical additives and unnecessary plastic waste!

Make solid soap yourself: instructions

Homemade soap, like home-made washing powder, offers almost endless possibilities in terms of composition. Just make sure you use the correct proportions during production. So you will need for solid soap:

  • 250 g unscented organic curd soap
  • 50 ml organic natural oil of your choice
  • about ten drops of your favorite fragrance oil

The only additional utensils you need are silicone moulds, a rasp, and a saucepan.
Olive oil and coconut oil are the most popular natural oils in homemade soap recipes, but you can use virtually any vegetable oil or even beeswax in homemade soap. The main thing is that the component takes care of your skin. The fragrance oil, in turn, increases the wellness factor of your product, as it stimulates your sense of smell and invites you to dream. Here, too, you are spoiled for choice.

Tip: citrus scents ensure a wake-up effect, jasmine has a stress-reducing effect, lavender has a relaxing effect and sandalwood has a balancing effect.

And this is how you make the solid soap:

  • Grate the curd soap as finely as possible.
  • Then melt the flakes in a water bath.
  • Add the natural and fragrance oil.
  • Mix everything together and pour the liquid into the mold of your choice.
  • Then ideally let the soap dry for several days. Finished!

As you can see, making your own soap with soap flakes is child’s play – and in contrast to making your own soap with lye, it’s also completely safe. So feel free to make soap with your children too. A great program for rainy days!

Make your own soap from curd soap: Instructions for a liquid product

In addition to an empty soap dispenser, a rasp, and a pot, you will need the following ingredients for your very own liquid soap:

  • 250ml of water
  • 15 g organic curd soap
  • 1/2 tsp honey
  • 1 tsp natural oil of your choice
  • a few drops of fragrance oil

And this is how it works: grate curd soap and bring to a boil with the water while stirring. Then lower the temperature and, as soon as the mass stops boiling, add the remaining ingredients. Leave to cool for a few hours and pour into the dispenser.
