Ingredients for 2 servings:

  • 1 bunch of leaves (mallow leaves), Mauritanian mallow
  • 1 egg(s)
  • 3 tbsp, heaped flour
  • 50 g grated cheese, e.g. pizza cheese
  • ½ onion(s)
  • Salt
  • nutmeg
  • 2 tbsp, heaped breadcrumbs
  • olive oil

Instructions

Working time approx. 10 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 8 minutes; Total time approx. 18 minutes

Remove the mallow leaves from their stems. Finely chop the onion and leaves and mix with the egg, cheese, salt, and nutmeg. Add enough flour to form a pliable mixture. Form into soft patties and coat in breadcrumbs. Fry in hot oil.
