Ingredients for 1 servings:
- 400 g marzipan paste
- 200 g powdered sugar
- 150 g brown sugar
- 300 g almond(s), peeled, ground
- 50 g flour
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 2 egg whites
- 2 shots of Amaretto
- 200 g almond flakes
- 100 g icing sugar for sprinkling
Instructions
Working time approx. 45 minutes; Rest time approx. 15 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 15 minutes; Total time approx. 1 hour 15 minutes
The recipe is designed for 2 trays
Place the ground almonds, flour, and baking powder in a bowl and mix. Add the marzipan in small pieces. Add the powdered sugar, brown sugar, egg whites, and Amaretto and knead everything into a very sticky dough. Preheat oven to 180°C (top/bottom heat). Prepare the flaked almonds in a bowl and water in a second bowl. With watery hands, shape the dough into oblong cookies, roll them in the flaked almonds, and place them on a baking sheet. Place the trays in the oven and bake for about 15 minutes, until the flaked almonds are lightly browned and the mandorlini are slightly cracked. Remove the mandorlini from the oven and dust with powdered sugar while still warm. Makes 2 trays.
