Today’s Perfect Margarita

To make the lemonade, mix the lime juice with the sugar and water until the sugar has dissolved. Chill in the refrigerator for 1 hour. Fill a cocktail shaker with ice cubes, add the Grand Marnier, tequila and 7.4 cl of the lemonade. Lightly moisten the rim of a cocktail glass with a lime quarter and press it into a shallow plate with salt. Gently tap to remove any excess salt. Place a lime slice on the rim of the glass. Shake the shaker well for about 20 seconds until ice forms on the outside. Strain the cocktail into the prepared cocktail glass and enjoy. A fantastic drink for a relaxing evening on the patio. Serve with tortilla chips and homemade guacamole. Note: The standard tequila with the hat is not suitable, as it is a mixto tequila, which is not 100% made from the blue Weber agave plant. The difference in taste compared to a tequila made from 100% blue agave is significant! An alternative to Sauza Hornitos is Sauza Tres Generaciones Reposado, but it is significantly more expensive. Grand Marnier is preferable, as it is a cognac-based orange liqueur. Cointreau is an alternative, but it doesn’t quite match the taste experience of Grand Marnier.
