Marinade for spare ribs

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 3 slices of bacon
  • 1 onion(s)
  • 3 cloves garlic, peeled
  • 100 g cane sugar
  • 50 g honey
  • 2 lemon(s), juice only
  • 200 ml vinegar (apple cider vinegar)
  • 2 tsp tomato ketchup
  • 3 tsp mustard (Dijon mustard)
  • 2 tsp Worcestershire sauce
  • salt and pepper
  • Tabasco

Instructions

Working time approx. 15 minutes; Total time approx. 15 minutes

Fry the bacon in a pan without adding any fat until crispy, remove, and let cool. Finely chop the onion and fry in the remaining fat in the pan until golden brown. Finely chop the garlic cloves, crumble the bacon, and bring to a boil in the pan with the brown sugar, honey, lemon juice, apple cider vinegar, tomato ketchup, Dijon mustard, Worcestershire sauce, salt, pepper, two dashes of Tabasco, and a little water. Stir occasionally, reduce the heat, and simmer until the sauce thickens.
