Marinated Strawberries with Limoncello – Zabaione

Marinated strawberries …

  • 250 g Fresh strawberries
  • 1 tablespoon Sugar
  • 3 tablespoon Orange liqueur

… with limoncello – zabaione

  • 1 Egg yolk
  • 1 packet Vanilla sugar
  • 4 Centiliters White wine
  • 4 Centiliters Limoncello
  • 2 Splash Freshly squeezed lemon juice

Serving:

  • Fresh lemon balm or mint

Marinated strawberries …

  1. Wash, dry, clean and halve the strawberries. Sprinkle with sugar. Add orange liqueur. Mix everything carefully and leave to stand in the refrigerator for 30 minutes, covered.

  1. Mix egg yolks with vanilla sugar over a hot (not boiling) water bath. Gradually stir in white wine, limoncello and lemon juice. Stir until a light, thick, creamy mass is formed. Remove from the water bath and let cool down a bit.

Serving:

  1. Divide the strawberries in two dessert glasses. Spread the zabaione over it. Garnish with lemon balm or mint.
