Marzipan – almond – bows

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 2 packs of puff pastry (250 g each) from the refrigerated section
  • 200 g marzipan paste
  • 1 tbsp apricot jam
  • 50 g butter or margarine, soft
  • 2 tbsp cream or condensed milk
  • 30 g almond(s) (flakes)
  • powdered sugar

Instructions

Working time approx. 15 minutes; Total time approx. 15 minutes

Soften the marzipan in the microwave and mix it with the apricot jam and butter until smooth. Spread it onto a sheet of puff pastry. Place the second sheet on top and press down the edges slightly. Cut the pastry strips into approximately 1.5-2 cm wide strips along the wide side. Tie each strip of dough into a loose knot. Place the strips on a baking sheet rinsed with cold water and brush with cream/condensed milk. Sprinkle with the flaked almonds. Bake for about 15 minutes at 200°C (400°F) using conventional oven technology. Dust with powdered sugar.
