Ingredients for 1 servings:
- 250 g flour
- 250 g sugar
- 2 tbsp vanilla sugar
- ½ tsp baking powder
- 3 eggs
- 150 g almonds, whole kernels, unpeeled
- 200 g marzipan paste
- 3 drops of flavoring (almond essence or bitter almond oil)
- possibly grease for the tray
Instructions
Working time approx. 1 hour; Cooking/baking time approx. 35 minutes; Total time approx. 1 hour 35 minutes
Combine flour, sugar, vanilla sugar, and baking powder. Dice the marzipan, rub it in with your fingers, and mix it with the eggs and a few drops of almond essence or bitter almond oil (to taste). Now shape the dough into three 4 cm wide logs, place them on a baking sheet lined with baking paper (or greased), and bake at 175°C for about 20 minutes (do the skewer test if necessary). Let cool and slice diagonally. Return to the baking sheet and let dry for another 15 minutes at 150°C. If stored in a dry place, they will keep for about 2 months (although we always sell them out sooner).
