Marzipan – nut – macaroons

Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 4 egg whites
  • 300 g sugar
  • 1 packet of vanilla sugar
  • 300 g hazelnuts, ground
  • 150 g marzipan paste
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • n. B. Wafers (50 mm)
  • n. B. dark chocolate coating

Working time approx. 1 hour; Total time approx. 1 hour

Beat the egg whites until stiff peaks form, then gradually add the vanilla sugar and 150g of the sugar. In a separate bowl, combine the finely chopped marzipan, hazelnuts, remaining sugar, and cinnamon. Then mix the nut-marzipan mixture with the egg whites until a sticky dough forms. Pour the dough onto the wafers and bake in a preheated oven at 180°C (top/bottom heat) for about 10-15 minutes. Do not overbake the macaroons, or they will become too hard. Remove the macaroons from the oven and let them cool completely. Melt the chocolate coating and decorate the macaroons with it.
