Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 250 g ground walnuts (tree nuts)
  • 250 g sugar
  • 2 egg whites
  • 2 tbsp cherry brandy
  • n. B. bitter almond aroma
  • n. B. Walnut kernels (tree nut kernels)

Instructions

Working time approx. 30 minutes; Rest time approx. 6 hours; Cooking/baking time approx. 15 minutes; Total time approx. 6 hours 45 minutes

Combine the sugar and walnuts in a bowl and mix well. Make a well in the mixture. Pour the egg whites into the well. Mix with the kirsch until a moist dough forms. If desired, add bitter almond flavoring. Shape the dough into “boats” using two teaspoons. Garnish with walnut kernels, if desired. Then place on a damp baking sheet and let dry overnight. Preheat oven to 160°C (top/bottom heat: 150°C). Place the baking sheet on the second-lowest rack in the oven. Bake for about 15 minutes.
