Ingredients for 4 servings:
- 6 cups water
- 4 cups milk
- 6 cardamom pods, green
- 4 carnations
- 1 tbsp fennel seeds
- 1 tsp anise
- 1 stalk(s) cinnamon
- ½ tsp fresh ginger, finely chopped
- 4 tbsp black tea
- 6 tbsp honey
Instructions
Working time approx. 15 minutes; Total time approx. 15 minutes
Chai tea Indian style
Bring all ingredients, except the milk and black tea, to a boil in a saucepan and simmer over low heat for 10 minutes. Then add the milk and simmer for another 5 minutes. Add the black tea, bring to a boil briefly, and let it steep for 3-5 minutes. Strain and sweeten to taste. Serve hot.
