Maultaschen strips in crispy toast breading

Prepare the Maultaschen according to the package instructions and allow to cool. Crumble the bread and place it in a bowl. It’s best to leave the bread uncovered for a few days, as it would only go moldy in the package. In another bowl, lightly whisk the eggs and briefly stir in the cream. In a final bowl, prepare the almond flour or simply finely chopped almonds. Now cut the Maultaschen into approximately 2 cm thick slices and roll each slice in the almond flour, eggs, and breadcrumbs. It can be helpful to lightly moisten the slices with a brush before breading so that the almond flour adheres better if this is not the case. Fry the slices in a pan with plenty of butter on both sides until golden brown. This recipe is generally not suitable for diets, but it tastes excellent and is a completely different way to enjoy Maultaschen. Serve with a cream sauce and fresh bell peppers or green asparagus, for example.
