Spread the love

Ingredients for 2 servings:

  • 300 g Maultasche(s), preferably soup Maultaschen
  • 1 liter vegetable broth
  • 1 can sauerkraut (3-minute sauerkraut)
  • ½ onion(s)
  • 75 g bacon, diced
  • 50 g cheese, grated
  • Salt
  • pepper
  • some oil for frying

Instructions

Working time approx. 10 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 20 minutes; Total time approx. 30 minutes

Prepare the Maultaschen in the vegetable broth according to the package instructions. Soup Maultaschen are best, but since these aren’t available in every supermarket, you can also use regular Maultaschen. Dice the onions and heat the oil in a pan. Lightly fry the onion and bacon cubes. Add the 3-minute sauerkraut and heat for about 3 minutes. Remove the Maultaschen from the vegetable broth. The vegetable broth can be used for a starter soup or discarded. Add the cooked Maultaschen to the broth. If using large Maultaschen instead of soup Maultaschen, cut them into bite-sized pieces first. Fry everything for about 3 minutes over medium heat. Season with salt and pepper, add the grated cheese, and let it melt slightly.
