traditional Polish cuisine

Wash the fruit, drain the blueberries, and toss with the breadcrumbs. Pit the cherries and sour cherries, sprinkle with sugar, and after 15 minutes, drain off the juice. Toss with the breadcrumbs. Put the flour in a large bowl, beat in the egg, add salt and water, and knead into a smooth dough. Divide the dough into 2 portions. Roll out the dough thinly on a floured surface. Use a glass to cut out 7-8 cm rounds. Place a teaspoon of blueberries or 3 cherries in the center of each round. Fold the rounds into half-moons and press the edges firmly together. Place the Maultaschen in plenty of boiling salted water. When they float to the surface, simmer for another 2-3 minutes. Remove with a slotted spoon. Pour melted butter over them and dust with powdered sugar. Serve hot. Serve with the cream separately.
