Fruity kick in sparkling wine and water, on ice and pudding or in milk as a milkshake
Place the strawberries in a saucepan, add the water, bring to a boil, and simmer on low heat for about 15 minutes, stirring occasionally. Cover and let the mixture steep on the switched off stovetop for about 1 hour. Drain the strawberries and squeeze a little more liquid through a sieve, then filter the juice again through a fine sieve to catch any residue. Heat this clear juice in a larger saucepan, add the sugar and lemon juice, bring to a boil, and reduce to a syrup. Fill prepared bottles or twist-off jars with the hot syrup and seal immediately. Place the jars on their lids for 5 minutes. The specified amount is sufficient for approximately 7 jars of 200 ml each.
