Since you can refine the basic recipe with spices and herbs as you wish, you can also make a tartar sauce. For the basic recipe, you need the following ingredients

  • 150ml milk
  • 250 ml canola oil
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons medium hot mustard
  • some freshly squeezed lemon juice
  • Salt, pepper, and herbs to taste

The preparation

A hand blender is ideal for beating mayonnaise. All ingredients should be at about the same temperature.

  • Mix the milk well with the lemon juice using the hand blender.
  • Then add the oil drop by drop while the blender is running.
  • If the liquid thickens, you can add mustard, spices, and herbs.
  • Mayonnaise works particularly well if you use natural yogurt instead of milk.
