Meat sausage – onion – mustard – ragout

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 500 g meat sausage
  • 300 g onion(s)
  • 1 tbsp butter / margarine
  • 40 g flour
  • ⅛ liter milk
  • 4 tbsp mustard
  • Salt
  • pepper
  • Sugar
  • chives

Instructions

Working time approx. 10 minutes; Total time approx. 10 minutes

Cut 500g of pork sausage into pieces (preferably strips). Peel about 300g of onions and cut into eighths. Fry both in butter/margarine until light brown, then remove. Add 40g of flour to the fat and sauté until lightly browned. While stirring constantly, deglaze with 3/8 liter of warm water and 1/8 liter of milk and bring to a boil. Stir in 4 level tablespoons of mustard. Season the sauce with salt, pepper, and a little sugar. Add the sausage and onion strips and heat through. Serve sprinkled with chives and with a baguette.
