- 1 carnation(s)

- ¼ bay leaf
- 2 tsp flour
- Salt (about 1/3 tsp)
- some Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tsp mustard, medium hot
Instructions
Working time approx. 20 minutes; Total time approx. 20 minutes
Sear the sausages in hot fat until crispy on all sides. Then remove from the pan. Let the onions brown lightly in the fat. Deglaze with beer and water. Add the quartered bay leaf, clove, lemon slice, salt, mustard, and Worcestershire sauce. Bring everything to a boil briefly, then return the sausages to the pan. Braise the sausages over low heat with the pan covered for 15-20 minutes. Then remove the bay leaf, clove, and lemon slice from the pan and set the sausages aside on a plate. Lightly thicken the sauce with flour mixed with a little water until smooth. Serve with boiled potatoes and vegetables of your choice. We like to serve it with kohlrabi in Dutch sauce or with Brussels or red cabbage.
