Meatballs with mozzarella and tomatoes

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 500 g minced meat
  • 1 onion(s)
  • 1 egg(s)
  • 2 tbsp curd
  • 3 sprigs basil, dried
  • 6 m.-large tomato(s)
  • 1 pack of mozzarella
  • ½ bunch parsley
  • some butter or oil
  • Salt and pepper from the mill

Instructions

Working time approx. 45 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 35 minutes; Total time approx. 1 hour 20 minutes

Peel and finely chop the onion. Chop the parsley. Knead the ground beef, quark, egg, basil, diced onion, and chopped parsley into a firm dough and season generously with salt and pepper. Form flat meatballs and fry on each side. Wash the tomatoes and cut into 1 cm thick slices. Thinly slice the mozzarella. Lightly grease a shallow dish and arrange the meatballs, tomatoes, and cheese slices in a fan shape. Bake in a preheated oven at 200°C for about 20 minutes. We like to serve this with white bread.
