Chicken in tomato and garlic sauce

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 1 chicken, ready to cook
  • 1 bunch of soup vegetables
  • 1 m.-sized onion(s)
  • 3 cloves garlic
  • 1 bunch of parsley
  • 1 tbsp oil
  • 2 bay leaves
  • 1 can of tomatoes, 850 g
  • e.g. salt and pepper
  • n. B. sugar

Instructions

Working time approx. 15 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 45 minutes; Total time approx. 1 hour

Cut the chicken into 8 pieces. Cut the vegetables into small cubes and the leek into rings. Peel and finely chop the onion and garlic. Chop the parsley. Brown the chicken in oil and add the vegetables, onion, garlic, parsley, and bay leaves. Drain the tomatoes and add the liquid to the chicken. Chop the tomatoes slightly and add them as well. Simmer everything for about 45 minutes. Season the sauce with salt, pepper, and sugar. Serve with white bread.
