Meatballs with spicy sauce

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 500 g minced meat, mixed
  • 1 egg(s)
  • 1 stale roll
  • 3 bell peppers, red
  • 1 bell pepper(s), yellow
  • 1 bell pepper(s), green
  • 2 onions
  • 250 g Hungarian-style paprika sauce
  • 1 pack of tomatoes, pureed
  • 100 ml broth
  • 2 tbsp milk
  • salt and pepper
  • Sugar

Instructions

Working time approx. 25 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 45 minutes; Total time approx. 1 hour 10 minutes

Thoroughly knead the minced meat with the soaked and squeezed bread roll, salt, pepper, and egg. Form the meat dough into small meatballs and place them in a baking dish. Peel and slice the bell peppers, peel and slice the onions, and distribute both over the meatballs. Mix the paprika sauce with the tomato puree, broth, and milk, and season with salt, pepper, and sugar. Pour over the vegetables and meatballs and place the dish in the oven at 175°C for about 45 minutes. We serve it with hash browns.
