delicious, summery melon liqueur

Place the melon pieces in a large container. Mix with the alcohol and let stand for 7 days. Then strain the alcohol through a sieve. Puree the melon pieces and also strain through a sieve. Make a syrup from the milk, cream, sugar, and vanilla sugar. Stir well to dissolve the sugar, then let it cool. Mix the melon puree with the syrup, stir in the alcohol, and bottle everything. Store in the refrigerator; the meloncello tastes best when well chilled!
