Currant Grappa

Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 1,500 ml grappa
  • 600 g red currants
  • 300 g sugar
  • 4 sprigs lemon balm

Instructions

Working time approx. 30 minutes; Rest period approx. 35 days; Total time approx. 35 days 30 minutes

Place the sorted, washed, and well-drained currants in a large bowl with the sugar and mash the berries with a fork. Mix everything well. Place the sugared currants in a large, sealable container and fill with grappa. Seal the container and store in a cool, dark place for at least 4 weeks. Strain the liqueur through a fine kitchen towel and bottle. Finally, add the lemon balm to the liqueur, seal the bottles, and let it steep for another week. Store in a cool place.
