South African specialty
Bring the milk and condensed milk to a boil in a saucepan. Mix the cornflour, custard powder, sugar, salt, and egg into a paste. Add a little milk from the pan if needed. Reduce heat to low, stir the paste drop by drop into the hot milk. Cook the milk mixture, stirring constantly, until thickened. Crumble the butter biscuits and press half into a springform pan. Spread half of the milk pudding on top, then more biscuits, and finally the milk pudding. Sprinkle with cinnamon and a few remaining butter biscuit crumbs. Refrigerate for about 2-3 hours. South African milk tarts are available in every restaurant in South Africa for dessert or as an afternoon cake.
