Ingredients for 3 servings:
- 250 g millet
- 2 tbsp oil
- 1 onion(s), diced
- 1 garlic clove(s), diced
- 750 ml water
- 3 tbsp vegetable broth, instant
- 1 bay leaf
Instructions
Working time approx. 15 minutes; Total time approx. 15 minutes
Rinse the millet in a fine sieve with hot water and let it drain. Heat the oil. Briefly sauté the diced onions and garlic clove. Add the millet and fry. Pour in the water and bring to a boil. Add the vegetable stock and bay leaf. Then let the mixture swell over low heat for about 35 minutes and season to taste. To serve, either ladle portions into small cups (rinse them with cold water first) and turn out, or scoop out portions with an ice cream scoop. Serve with fresh herbs of your choice. Millet risotto is a great addition to vegetarian dishes, but also a great side dish to meat dishes.
