Minced meat and cabbage stew

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • ½ white cabbage
  • 400 g potatoes, waxy
  • 2 tbsp oil
  • 400 g minced meat, mixed
  • 1 tsp caraway seeds, whole
  • 1 tsp sweet paprika powder
  • salt and pepper
  • 1 liter meat broth, hot
  • 1 bay leaf
  • ½ bunch parsley, chopped

Instructions

Working time approx. 15 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 30 minutes; Total time approx. 45 minutes

Clean and halve the white cabbage, removing the stalk. Then cut the white cabbage crosswise into 2 cm pieces. Peel the potatoes and cut them into 1 cm slices. Heat the oil in a large pot and fry the mixed mince together with the caraway seeds over high heat until coarsely crumbly. Season generously with sweet paprika, salt, and pepper. Now layer the potatoes and white cabbage over the mince, then add the hot meat broth and the bay leaf. Cover and simmer for about 30 minutes over low heat. Then remove the bay leaf and serve the stew sprinkled with 1⁄2 bunch of chopped parsley and a little sweet paprika.
