  • 1 onion(s)
  • 1 Pepper
  • 1 sprig(s) rosemary
  • 3 eggs
  • 300 ml cream
  • 200 ml milk
  • ½ cup crème fraîche
  • 200 g cheese (Gouda)
  • salt and pepper
  • Paprika powder
  • nutmeg
  • oil

Instructions

Working time approx. 30 minutes; Total time approx. 30 minutes

Quick casserole for young and old

Peel and slice the potatoes. Finely dice the onion and sauté in a little oil with the rosemary and chili pepper (leave them whole!). Add the minced meat and fry until crisp. Leave the rosemary and chili pepper in the pan just to brown and remove before seasoning. Season the minced meat with salt, pepper, and paprika. Whisk the eggs with 150 ml of cream, milk, and crème fraîche until a sauce forms, then season with nutmeg, salt, pepper, and paprika. Mix the raw potato slices with the minced meat in a baking dish and pour the sauce over it. Bake the casserole for a total of about 30 minutes at 200 degrees Celsius (400 degrees Fahrenheit) (check that the potatoes are cooked through!). Sprinkle the coarsely grated Gouda cheese over the casserole after 15 minutes to prevent the cheese from overcooking. Then drizzle with the remaining cream to keep the casserole moist. You can also use potatoes from the day before, which will shorten the oven time.
