with mashed potatoes

Finely dice the onions and bell peppers and fry them well in oil. Add the minced meat, break them up well, and fry for about 5 minutes. Add the salt, pepper, oregano, bell pepper, diced cucumbers, and tomatoes with their juices and simmer for another 2 minutes. Make mashed potatoes with 500 ml milk and 250 ml water, quickly stir in the egg yolk, and season with nutmeg. Transfer the minced meat ragout to an ovenproof dish and cover with mashed potatoes. Sprinkle with grated cheese and breadcrumbs, then top with butter. Bake in a preheated oven at 200°C on the middle rack for 30 minutes. This goes well with an endive salad with a garlic and mustard dressing. Of course, you can also use homemade mashed potatoes instead of the ready-made ones.
