Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 1 onion(s)
  • 2 garlic cloves
  • 75 g cooked ham
  • 600 g tomatoes
  • 250g mozzarella
  • 200 g pasta (e.g. macaroni)
  • 750 g minced meat, mixed
  • 1 tbsp tomato paste
  • 50 g butter
  • 50 g flour
  • 400 ml milk
  • 400 ml water (with 1 tbsp vegetable stock)
  • 100 g cheese, grated (Gouda)
  • basil
  • Salt

Instructions

Dice the onion, garlic, and ham. Slice the tomatoes and mozzarella. Cook the pasta according to the package instructions until al dente. Brown the onion, garlic, and ham in oil. Add the minced meat and brown. Season with basil, salt, and pepper. Add the tomato paste and deglaze with 100 ml of water (without vegetable stock). Simmer briefly, then remove from the heat. In another saucepan, melt the butter and sprinkle with flour. Sauté until lightly browned, stirring continuously. Gradually add 400 ml of milk and 400 ml of water (with 1 tbsp of stock). Simmer briefly and stir in 75 g of Gouda. Melt the cheese and season with salt and pepper. Place half of the pasta in a baking dish. Spread half of the minced meat sauce on top. Spread half of the light sauce on top. Add half of the tomatoes. Add half of the mozzarella. Then add the remaining pasta, followed by the mince sauce, tomatoes, and more mozzarella. Pour the remaining light sauce over everything and sprinkle with 25g of Gouda cheese. Bake at 200°C for about 35 minutes.
