Ingredients for 2 servings:
- 250 g minced meat, mixed
- 1 egg(s)
- 20 g breadcrumbs
- salt and pepper
- 1 sprig(s) of thyme
- 2 tbsp pesto, red
- 2 slices of cheddar cheese
- 1 slice(s) of cooked ham
- ½ handful of leaf spinach
- 8 slices of bacon
- 20 g feta cheese
Instructions
Working time approx. 30 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 55 minutes; Total time approx. 1 hour 25 minutes
Mix the ground beef, egg, breadcrumbs, chopped thyme, salt, and pepper together in a bowl. Spread out on a piece of aluminum foil and shape into a rectangle about 1 cm thick. Spread the ground beef with the pesto, then place the cheddar cheese on top. Add the cooked ham and spinach and feta cheese to finish. Now carefully roll up using the foil (a bit tricky!). Seal the sides, wrap the bacon strips around the roll, and then wrap tightly in aluminum foil. Bake in a preheated oven at 180°C (top/bottom heat) for about 25 minutes. Remove the aluminum foil (opening it at the top and folding it to the side also works) and bake for another 25-30 minutes at 250°C to crisp up the bacon. Note from Chefkoch.de: If you don’t want to use aluminum foil, use parchment paper or baking paper for the packet. For some time now, there has also been aluminum foil that has baking paper on the side facing the food, which is also recommended.
