Minced meat sauce, African

Ingredients for 6 servings:

  • 5 onions
  • 750 g minced beef
  • 1 tbsp butter
  • 3 tbsp olive oil
  • 2 tbsp curry powder, hot
  • 3 tbsp vinegar
  • 1 tbsp jam (peach jam)
  • 5 tbsp almonds, sliced
  • 5 tbsp raisins
  • Salt
  • Black pepper, freshly ground
  • 2 cups of cream
  • 1 cup crème fraîche
  • 1 lemon(s)

Instructions

Working time approx. 15 minutes; Total time approx. 15 minutes

Peel and finely chop the onions. Heat oil and butter in a pan. Sauté the onions for 5 minutes until translucent. Add the minced meat, tear it into pieces, and fry until crispy. Add the curry, jam, vinegar, almonds, and raisins; stir well. Add the cream and simmer, covered, for 60 minutes. Season generously with salt and pepper. Add the crème fraîche and the lemon juice, stir to combine, and let it simmer for another 10 minutes. Serve with rice and salad.
