Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 240 g raisins
  • 240 g sultanas
  • 60 g candied lemon
  • 60 g candied orange peel
  • 2 medium-sized apples, peeled, pitted, finely grated
  • 1 ½ lemon(s), grated peel
  • 1 orange(s), grated peel
  • 120 g sugar, brown
  • ¾ tsp, leveled nutmeg
  • ¾ tsp, crushed cinnamon powder
  • ¼ tsp, str. Clove powder, approx.
  • 75 ml brown rum
  • 75 ml water
  • 120 g butter, melted, cooled

Instructions

Working time approx. 10 minutes; Rest period approx. 2 days; Total time approx. 2 days 10 minutes

Filling for cakes and pastries according to English model

Place all ingredients except the butter into a food processor and chop finely, then stir in the butter. Let the mixture sit in the refrigerator for 2 days, stirring occasionally. Then pour the mincemeat into clean twist-off jars and refrigerate for at least 2 weeks before using.
