Mozzarella meatball casserole

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 500 g Mett (Thuringian)
  • 600g mozzarella
  • 250 g cherry tomatoes
  • 1 large onion(s)
  • 2 garlic cloves
  • butter
  • salt and pepper

Instructions

Working time approx. 20 minutes; Total time approx. 20 minutes

Butter a baking dish. Form the minced meat into balls and cut the mozzarella into pieces roughly the same size as the balls. Reserve some of the mozzarella. Then layer the balls, mozzarella, and washed and trimmed tomatoes in the baking dish. Finely chop the onion and garlic cloves and sauté them in a pan. Spread this mixture over the contents of the baking dish and cover with the remaining mozzarella. Bake for about 30 minutes at 220°C.
