Mozzarella sticks with a twist
Mix the flour with a large pinch of salt and a small pinch of sugar. Heat the milk in a saucepan, but do not allow it to get too hot (heat destroys the yeast). Crumble in the yeast and dissolve it. Gradually add the yeast milk to the flour, stirring continuously until a smooth dough forms. Add a little more flour or milk if necessary. Cover the dough and let it rise in a warm place for at least 30 minutes (you can also do this in the oven on the lowest setting). Knead the dough thoroughly and divide it into 4 equal portions. Roll out all 4 portions on a floured surface into long rectangles. Cut the mozzarella into strips and sprinkle over the yeast dough pieces. Season generously with oregano, basil, salt, and pepper. Roll up the rectangles from the long side and press them together firmly, also pressing the ends together on the sides. Bake in a preheated oven at 180°C for about 20 minutes. Serve hot!
